During the City Council meeting the City Council approved Resolution 2022-28 authorizing the City Manager to enter into a contract for the Seattle Street Project. The engineer, city staff and the contractor are working towards signing contracts and issuing a Notice To Proceed. It is anticipated construction will start late June or early July.
May 3, 2022
On May 3 city staff received bid documents related to the Seattle Street Reconstruction project. The city received bids from 5companies for the project. Each bid was ranked against the following matrix:

The City and engineer worked together to ensure the bids were done in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local standards. The full bid tab can be found here. The recommended contractor was Main Lane Industries with a bid of $3,298,505. The engineers estimate for this project was just over $2 million. City Council will discuss this bid during their May 18, 2022 City Council Meeting.
The city has received nearly $624,835 from the Congressional Community Funded Projects towards the water lines for the project. I am also working with HCFCD to secure $225,978 for the storm sewer improvements for this project. The plan is to utilize approximately $1,500,000 in American Rescue Plan funds for this project as week. The remaining $947,962 would come from the Capital Improvement Fund.
September 21, 2021
On September 20, 2021 the City Council authorized a contract with Aguirre & Fields to finish the engineering and design for the Seattle Street Reconstruction Project.
The project is scheduled to go out to bid in early April 2022 with bids coming before the City Council in May for approval. It is estimated that work will begin in July 2022 and work is expected to take approximately 12 months for completion.
