2024 Bond Information
During the August 2024 City Council Meeting the City Council called a bond election for the November 2024 ballot. That election is to ask voters to vote on the issue of approving $10,100,000 in debt for a new municipal pool complex.
That decision was made based upon the recommendation of the bond committee, a group of residents that was appointed by the city council to look at options on how to handle the current pool that is approximately 50 years old. That committee ultimately recommended a new pool complex at an estimated price tag of $10,100,000.
On this page you will find all of the data that the bond committee reviewed to come to their recommendation. The biggest piece of information was the pool assessment that was done by a third party, Counsilman-Hunsaker.
That report provide an option for repair, renovation, and a new pools.
Repairs had a cost of $813,000 with an expected lifespan of 5-7 years, barring any unforeseen critical failure of mechanical equipment or significant water loss.
Renovation option had a cost of $2,863,000 with an expected lifespan of 10-15 years, barring any unforeseen critical failure of mechanical equipment or significant water loss.
The new pool design option recommended by the committee has a cost of $10,100,000 with an expected lifespan of 30-50 years.
