As we enter the month of November, we honor the traditions and observances that bring us together as a community and as a nation. It’s a time to pay tribute to our veterans and gather with loved ones to give thanks for the many blessings we enjoy. In recognition of these important events, please note the following changes to the City of Jersey Village’s schedule.
City Offices Closed for Veterans Day
Firstly, all city offices will be closed on Friday, November 10, in observance of Veterans Day. This day is set aside to honor the brave men and women who have served in the U.S. armed forces. We encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on the sacrifices made by our veterans for the freedoms we cherish.
Thanksgiving Holiday Closures
Additionally, city offices will be closed on Thursday, November 23, and Friday, November 24, for the Thanksgiving holiday. This will be a time for our city employees to enjoy with family and friends, giving thanks for the year’s harvest and blessings. We wish all Jersey Village residents a warm and festive Thanksgiving.
City Council Meeting Rescheduled
Please also be aware that the regular City Council meeting scheduled for Monday, November 20, has been moved to the following Monday, November 27. The rescheduling ensures that city business will have the full attention of our council members and staff without conflicting with holiday plans and observances.
We encourage residents to plan accordingly for these closures and schedule changes. As always, we are grateful for your understanding and for the opportunity to serve the wonderful community of Jersey Village. Let’s use these occasions to celebrate our collective spirit, our heroes past and present, and the abundant generosity that characterizes this season of gratitude.
We thank you for your attention to these changes and wish everyone a heartfelt Veterans Day and a bountiful Thanksgiving.
