City of Jersey Village Enters Phase One of Drought Contingency Plan

Effective August 4, 2022 the City of Jersey Village has entered Stage one of the City’s Drought Contingency Plan. Due to the existing total daily demand for water and requirements specified in the city wholesale water purchase contract with the City of Houston, the City of Jersey Village strongly encourages you to join us in our effort to reduce water consumption.

The Drought Contingency Plan calls for Stage One water conservation measures when the total daily water demand equals or exceeds 90 percent of the production capacity for three consecutive days or 95 percent of the production capacity on a single day.?

Stage One drought response calls for a reduction in water use through the following water conservation efforts:

  1. Water customers shall limit the irrigation of landscaped areas to Mondays and Thursdays for customers with a street address ending in an even number (0, 2, 4, 6 or 8), and Tuesdays and Fridays for water customers with a street address ending in an odd number (1, 3, 5, 7 or 9), and to irrigate landscapes only between the hours of midnight and 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. to midnight on designated watering days
  2. Check and repair water leaks, including dripping faucets and running toilets
  3. Check sprinkler heads to make sure water is not spraying into the street or directly into a storm drain and/or gutters

Stage One of the Plan may be rescinded when all of the conditions listed as triggering events have ceased to exist for a period of five (5) consecutive days.?The City of Jersey Village will notify you when Stage One has been lifted.
