What should I do if I am traveling on my street, it is under construction, down to one lane and an emergency vehicle approaches me from behind with lights flashing and sirens blaring?  During normal responses we would say to pull to the right and stop. In this case, during road construction, continue your travel to your driveway or to the next street and pull into your driveway or onto the next street. Getting out of the way will help the emergency vehicle get to the emergency.

What if I am traveling on a street that is under construction, it is a one way street and an emergency vehicle is traveling the wrong way down the street?  Pull into the first driveway you can and wait for the emergency vehicle to pass. If the emergency vehicle does not pass and stops for an emergency situation, then please be patient with us. We will try our best to expedite the situation.

What if emergency vehicles are on my street that is under construction and they have the road blocked for an extended period of time. I need to get to my home. Can I just park on the road?  The answer is no. We need to keep the lane of travel opened as much as possible. The emergency may have other units still responding. We will try to expedite all emergencies as quickly as possible.

When can I park on the street? I know it is under construction, one lane and a one way. It should be ok for me to park at night when hardly anyone is out.  Emergencies happen when we least expect them to. We need to keep the roads open at all times. Please park in your driveway, in neighbors driveways (with permission of course), or on streets not under construction.
