NOTICE OF APPROVAL – Ordinance 2020-14 and Ordinance 2020-15

Notice is hereby given that at the June 15, 2020 City Council Meeting of the City of Jersey Village, Texas, the following ordinances, which may be viewed online at by clicking HERE for Ordinance 2020-14 and HERE for Ordinance 2020-15.  

ORDINANCE NO.  2020-14 - AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JERSEY VILLAGE, TEXAS, AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF JERSEY VILLAGE, AT CHAPTER 66, “TRAFFIC AND VEHICLES” ARTICLE II. PARKING, DIVISION II BY AMENDING SECTION 66-71 “NO PARKING ZONES DESIGNATED”; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING FOR REPEAL; PROVIDING A PENALTY AS PROVIDED BY SECTION 1-8 OF THE CODE.

ORDINANCE NO. 2020-15 - AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JERSEY VILLAGE, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 66 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF JERSEY VILLAGE “TRAFFIC AND VEHICLES”, BY ADDING A NEW ARTICLE VI, “REGULATION OF GOLF CARTS”, THAT PROVIDES REGULATIONS FOR THE OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF GOLF CARTS WITHIN THE CITY; PROVIDING A PENALTY; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION; AND, PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Any person who shall violate any provision of these Ordinance shall be punished upon conviction as provided by Section 1-8 of the City of Jersey Village Code of Ordinances by a fine not to exceed $500.00 provided, however, that if the fine or penalty is found to be for the violation of a rule, ordinance, or police regulation that governs fire safety, zoning, or public health and sanitation, including dumping of refuse, the fine may not exceed $2,000.00.  No penalty shall be greater or less than the penalty provided for the same or a similar offense under the laws of the state, and each day such violation shall exist shall be a separate offense.
